Official 2-Day “Training from the BACK of the Room” (TBR) Practitioner Class


The official 2-day “Training from the BACK of the Room” (TBR) Practitioner Class is a globally-acclaimed, interactive, skills-building train-the-trainer class for anyone who is a trainer, teacher, instructor, coach, or facilitator of learning. 

In this 2-day TBR Practitioner Class, you’ll explore how the human brain really learns, which is very different from traditional assumptions about learning. And you’ll be introduced to “cognitive neuroscience” concepts – the brain science behind all effective instructional design and human learning.

You’ll be able to apply these principles every time you train, teach, instruct, or coach others. You’ll also experience and collect dozens of interactive instructional strategies that you can use with any topic and any group of learners. You’ll use the 4Cs Map – a powerful 4-step instructional design and delivery model – to create a training plan specific to a topic you already teach. In addition, you’ll receive a 55-page resource workbook that is only available with this program, as well as copies of Sharon Bowman’s best-selling books: ”Training from the BACK of the Room!” and “Using Brain Science to Make Training Stick.”

The Trainer Certification Course (TCC):
How to Present the Official 2-Day TBR Practitioner Class

This 1-day Trainer Certification Course (TCC) is designed to give you the professional training skills you need to present the official 2-day TBR Practitioner Class either publicly or privately. Attending the official 2-day TBR Practitioner Class is a prerequisite for attending the TCC day. (You must email a photo of your “TBR Practitioner Class Certificate of Completion” to the TCC Certifier in order to qualify for participation in the TCC program.)

Along with individualized instruction, guided practice, instructor and peer coaching and feedback during the TCC day, you’ll receive a scripted, 200-page TBR Facilitator’s Guide, complete TBR slide sets, and all other digital materials you need to present the official 2-day TBR Practitioner Class. You’ll also receive a Licensing Letter of Agreement (LOA) outlining your responsibilities as a TBR Certified Trainer. Upon completion of all requirements, and passing the TCC “exam,” you’ll become a TBR Certified Trainer and a member of a global master training group of TBR Certified Trainers who will help you polish your TBR Practitioner Class presentation skills.

As part of the TCC exam, you’ll be presenting a 10-minute analog demonstration lesson for peer review and feedback (no slides or other digital devices can be used). 

You’ll prepare this lesson during the morning of the TCC day so no pre-class preparation is necessary. Specific lesson instructions will be sent to you after you register for the TCC. You will also receive a list of reading and writing assignments to complete, as well. 

This exciting and challenging 1-day Trainer Certification Course is being offered only a few times a year in the United States and Europe and registration in each class is limited to 12 participants. Register early as this class fills up quickly. Upon the successful completion of this course, you will be licensed to present the official 2-day “Training from the BACK of the Room” Practitioner Class.
